Where Installation Fits

Most of our work in Oak Cliff is repair and replacement on existing roofs, but installation covers a real, distinct category: roofing a structure that doesn't have one yet, or doesn't have the one it needs.

  • Home additions — a new room, sunroom, or second story that needs its roofline tied cleanly into the existing structure.
  • New construction — full roof installation on a newly built home or accessory structure, coordinated with your builder's timeline.
  • Detached structures — garages, workshops, and outbuildings that need a roof matched to the main house or built to its own spec.

What We Check Before Installing

  1. Deck and framing readiness — confirming the structure is properly prepped before anything goes on top.
  2. Tie-in points with any existing roofline, so water sheds correctly at every seam.
  3. Material match or intentional contrast with the main structure, based on your preference.
  4. Local permit and code requirements for the specific structure type.

FAQ

Roof Installation Questions

Is roof installation different from roof replacement?

In practice, most of the work overlaps. "Installation" typically refers to new construction or an addition where no roof previously existed, while "replacement" means tearing off and replacing an existing roof. Both get the same attention to deck prep, underlayment, and flashing detail.

Can you install a roof on a new addition to my existing home?

Yes — this is one of the more common installation jobs we do, tying a new addition's roofline cleanly into the existing structure so it doesn't look or perform like an afterthought.

Do you work with builders on new-construction homes?

We do. If you're building new in Oak Cliff or West Dallas, we're glad to work directly with your builder or general contractor on roof installation as part of the build schedule.

What roofing materials do you install on new construction?

Asphalt shingle, standing-seam metal, and TPO/flat systems, depending on the structure and your goals. We'll walk through the tradeoffs during your consultation.
